For the first day or two after the tightening, you can feel a strain but again not painful. The process took roughly 7 months and I couldn’t be happier with the results. Both myself and my partner had them done at the same time and we are thrilled. I have a small wire, top and bottom fixed behind the teeth, which is not visible and I can’t feel it. We wear our retainers once/twice a week. It’s been nearly two years since the fixed brackets and our teeth look as good as when the brackets were first removed.
